Saturday Sky

Another week, thought I would update more often, but doesn't
seem like it's happening. It is slightly warmer today, but
there is still snow on the ground. Luckily the driveway is
pretty much clear, and this morning hubby was down at the
bottom (we live on hill) and breaking up the ice across
the bottom of the drive. After he ran the snow blower
a few days ago, then the plow came through the street
and the weather got cold, so there appeared a very hard
ridge of 4 inches or so of ice, we had to go over on the way
out and in. So he took an ax and hacked through it as
it is warmer today for a change. Make it easier for my
son and his family to come on Monday. They have a new
Toyota hybrid which is not all wheel drive.

Well, here is the progress on the Christmas present.
I did frog it and restart. Now I know I did one row
which is off, and I should frog back to there, but
at this point where I am, I'm not sure it will get
done. Besides, it probably is the fold line.
My hands are getting arthritic and it's hard
to knit more than a row or two before my hands hurt
too much. Even with circular needle.

In the mean time, we are still working on the house
and trying to get my hubby to pick up his stuff on the
floor. He had stuff in the guest shower, and he took
that out, but instead of taking it downstairs, he left
it in the living room. Will I ever get this house ready
for guests?

The shower floor was filthy. I've cleaned it once, but
I think it needs some getting down on the floor and scrubbing.
Trouble is, it's sort of a spotted floor but the spots
are little dark bars here and there. Hard to differentiate
them from the dirt.

Daughter-in-law is very fussy, so will continue after
the shower and clean very well the rest of the bath.
It is the smallest bath, but hubby has been using it
to wash his dirty things, etc. and that's why it is so
dirty.

We also have the borrowed crib to put together. It's
a two person job. Now he's sleeping as he worked like
like crazy on that ice. I know I bought a crib sheet
and have no idea where it is. Such fun.

Well, here's hoping you all have a wonderful Holiday
whatever you are celebrating. Have a Merry Christmas
and very Happy New Year!

So, I've been knitting.

Saturday Sky

Well, there is still snow on the ground, the driveway
appears clear. Another storm is happening tomorrow,
such fun. But today is ok.

This is a Christmas present I'm knitting. The recipient
reads the blog so can't say. But as I was laying it down
to photograph, I realized it's a mobius. I evidently, didn't
get it untwisted enough when joining, so need to frog it and
start again. I'm a slow knitter, will I get this done before
Christmas? Sure will try.

Crazy weather, ice, snow, etc. Not fun. Can't wait till
hubby retires and we can move south. So tired of ice and snow.

So, I've been knitting and frogging

Saturday, December 08, 2007

Here is a Christmas meme from Knitnana. I liked
it, so here's mine.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mostly wrapping paper, but
will use a recycled pretty bag occasionally.

2. Real or artificial tree? An artificial tree.

3. When do you put up the tree? Well I don't like it up very
long. It's still in the box. We may put it up this weekend.
Well, today is Saturday and not sure it will get done, maybe
next weekend.

4. When do you take the tree down? New Year’s Day as hubby
is home to help take it down.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Having trouble thinking
of one. I do remember one Christmas, I was about 12 and my
sister was around 4. Mom told me to open my gifts quickly
as I got more than my sister and she didn't want Ami to notice.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, forgot to get it out, so
will do that today.

8. Hardest person to buy for? Hubby

9. Easiest person to buy for? My sister, even though I've all ready
sent her something, I see lots of other things I could send her. We
are much better friends now than we were as kids with 8 years between
us.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? a crotched outfit from my
grandmother. Never wore it.

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Well I email some, and write a couple
Hubby does most of the card mailing.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? White Christmas

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually December but I do
most of my shopping online.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Chocolate Chip Cookies

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored

17. Favorite Christmas song? Love all of them

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay Home

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Yes

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel, although sometimes,
nothing.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? Christmas morning

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Christmas stuff in
October.

23. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color – No

24. What do/did you leave for Santa? Can't remember ever leaving
anything for Santa
Saturday Sky

Took this picture around 1 PM. It's a tad warm today
with temps of 40 degrees. Strange that it is warmer
than usual and I am colder than usual. When I got dressed
I put on a light sweater. But a little later, I took that
off and found a fleece pullover I put on and that is warmer.
Maybe it's windy and that's why I feel cold even with the
heat on.

Ok, I did frog the left front, and reknit it. So here it is
finished. Next is the sleeves. I think I am stopping here to
knit a thing for Christmas.

Reading a Dean Koontz book called 'Phantoms'. Scary book,
can only read it early in the day, and put it away till the
next morning. One evening I read some of it, and couldn't sleep
for thinking about it. A woman doctor had just gone to Florida
and picked up her younger sister, as their mother had just died.
They got into Snowfield, the doctor's town, and it was deathly
quiet. They found the doctor's maid, dead on the floor. Then
they went to the Sheriff's and found him dead too. They stopped
at a bakery and found the husband and wife dismembered. They
found another husband and wife in a locked room, dead. You
can see why it's scary. Each chapter gets more scary too.
The first book I read of his, wasn't scary at all. Oh well.

So, need to find the right yarn for the Christmas gift. Tried
one but it was too soft. I think I want to knit it of Acrylic
yarn, washable and all. I can see from here,(my yarn is in
those big plastic bags), a bulky yarn I'd like to use, but
it may be tricky to get it to gauge. We'll see.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

Took this picture around 11 AM this morning. Couldn't
update then as we were going out at 11:15 to get to the
movies. We went down to the Nazareth Movie Theaters and
saw 'Enchanted'. It's cute, but a little too cute for
hubby. Then we went to Applebee's for lunch. Tomorrow
is our 38th Anniversary and we decided to go out to lunch
instead of dinner since tomorrow is fast day at church.
After eating, we went down to the Palmerton Mall. We hardly
ever go down there. It's a lot bigger than it was when
we lived down there 27 or so years ago. We actually found
a present for a grandson, exactly what he wanted. His Mom
suggested one from Sears, but they were out of them. So
this was luck.

This is how far I've gotten on the left front of the Tilted
Duster. Well, I can see a mistake, when I frogged 5 rows,
and picked up stitches, it shows. Also I have more stitches
than I should at this point. So, I think I'm going to frog
it all, and start over again. Not that I want to do that,
but such is life.

Anyway, I'm tired from walking around the mall. Maybe I'll
watch a Christmas Movie, hubby recorded last week. Don't
remember which one it was though.

So, I've been knitting and will frog.

Early Sun

I was sitting at the dining room table eating, when I
glanced out the window. To my surprise, the sun was
just touching the ridge across the valley. It looked
so cool, I immediately got my camera out and went out
to the porch to take these photos. This first one, you
can just see the sun touching it from the distance.

For this photo, I used the telephoto on the camera, so you can
really see it. I just think it looks cool, hope you do too.

When I looked a little while after taking these photos, the sun
had passed it, and it looked darkish on the ridge again. So
I must have looked at the optimum time. That doesn't happen
often. There are houses on the back ridge and once or twice a year
I can see the sun just light up one of the windows of one of the
houses. Didn't ever take a picture of that though.

I was working on the left front of the tilted duster,
doing the decreases for the armhole and goofed up. Had to rip
out about 5 or 6 rows. Used a smaller needle to pick up the stitches.
Now I've worked back and it says I should have 21 stitches. Well
I must have something else wrong as I have 34 stitches.
Need to see what I've done. Didn't have this trouble with the
right front. Oh well. Maybe putting it aside for a while will
help.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

Took the sky picture around 3:45 PM. Forgot earlier. It's
quite cold today. Haven't been out much yet.

This is as far as I've gotten on the left front of the
Tilted Duster. Haven't touched it since before Thanks-
giving. Time to get it done.

Thanksgiving was fine. We only had Hubby's cousin, Rob,
for dinner. We were supposed to have two Ecuadorians, who
are returning home next week. Turned out they had to work,
so we had more food than we needed. I had made a pumpkin
pudding, as hubby can't eat gluten, so no crust. Both men
proclaimed it yummy. Just like the pie, without the crust.
I topped it with whipped topping. Hubby is managing to eat
the other puddings I still had.

So, will get back to knitting now

SNOW!

The snow started yesterday, lightly, and the trees
were so pretty with light snow on them. Then over
night we got a little over 4 inches, but it is still
snowing. Supposed to stop by 5 PM ending with Rain
or something. Such fun.

Have been working on the left front of the Tilted Duster.
Was going to take a picture of it, but thought I all ready
had. So will do so next time.

From here, I can see through the house to the deck outside the
window. It's covered with snow, several inches on each edge.
And that it is still snowing. The schools were closed and
Curves closes with the schools. I might go to the post office
as snow is melting from the driveway where hubby blew the snow
off. We'll see.

Saturday Sky

Took this around 9:30 AM, decided to update this blog early
on Saturday for a change. It's supposed to rain and maybe
snow, but hubby is outside blowing leaves off the driveway.

This is the Tilted Duster. Finished the right front and cast
on for the left front. Need to have the fronts done before
December 6 and our Knitting Guild meeting. I want to make my
hubby a hat for Christmas, so will hurry to finish the left
front.

It's getting colder. Winter is coming, not my favorite time
of year. I'm looking forward to over 3 years from now, when
hubby will retire and we will move to a warmer place. No more
snow for me I hope.

For now I will knit, and stay inside more often.

So, I've been knitting.

Saturday Sky

I'm posting this 9 PM at night, but I took the picture around
1 PM this afternoon. Rainy, a tad snowy, cold.

This a picture, not a very good one, forgot to turn on
the light I think. It is the progress of the Tilted Duster
so far. Have to knit St.St. until the armhole measures 9 or
10 inches or something. Not there yet.

Tonight we went to a going away party for a man and his son
who are from Peru and are going home. They've been here
over 4 years. His children at home will be quite grown up I
think. Here they are playing and singing which they like to
do in Spanish of course. Most of the people at the party speak
Spanish, except me and another couple. Hubby speaks Spanish a
little. The father didn't learn English but the boy learned it
pretty good. Of course the songs they sang were in Spanish. I
think they are leaving for home in 2 weeks.

It was so noisy at the party, it was a relief to leave. Peace
finally. Are Spanish speaking people more noisy? Maybe not,
maybe every party that there are that many people there, it's
noisy.

This month we are supposed to get the fronts done of the
Tilted Duster. I better get busy and finish the back,
so I can start on the fronts. Since it is Empire waisted,
the back and fronts aren't that big.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

Doesn't look like a wonderful sky, but rain is not
predicted and it doesn't feel like rain, just chilly.
Took this picture around 11 AM today.

This is the progress I made on the Tilted Duster.
A little hard to take a picture of it, because it curls
like crazy due to the St. stitch. Before I started I
had rolled one of the hanks to get started. Well I was
knitting on it during my knitting guild. All of a sudden
I ran out of yarn. First I thought I had knitted the
tail end, but no, I had run out of yarn. Had to stop
as I hadn't rolled any other hanks yet. So, the next
day, I put 5 more hanks onto the swift in their turn
to be rolled. This is the back, and have decreased
for the armhole indents. Just need to knit until the
armhole measures the right amount.
We are to get the fronts done by next month.

I was supposed to go to Scranton to a meeting this morning,
but decided last night I wasn't going to go. So slept
to around 9 this morning. Hubby's cousin came over from
New Jersey, but at the moment they are at a friend's house
cutting down some trees he wanted taken down. The cousin
has a metal detector he wants to use on our acreage to see
what he can find. Hubby was silly and buried some pennies
here and there.

Saturday Sky Rain

Not a great sky picture today as it is pouring rain and
has been since yesterday. We're hoping it lessens or
stops tonight as we have to go to Clark's Summit to
a church meeting tonight. Not fun driving in the
dark when it's raining.

I Cast on for the Tilted Duster yesterday and did a row of
purl this morning. I'm thinking that I need to change to the
circular needle as the stitches even though it's only 102,
are quite crowded with the bulky yarn. The pattern calls
for the strait needle, but such is life.

We went out to eat last night. Had boneless pork chops,
yummy. Before that we dropped off the prescription for
my blood pressure meds. This morning, we went out around
11, and picked up my meds at the drugstore, and then we
stopped at an auto store and hubby got anti-freeze for the
cars.

Going to make a pot roast for dinner. We have to eat
early because we have this meeting in Scranton tonight.
So, will need to start the roast around 2:30 I think.

Hubby's cousin was going to come over today, but due
to the heavy rain, he decided not to.

Gauge Squares

Yes, these are the two gauge squares I had to make for the
Tilted Duster. The one on the left was on 10.5 needles and
only got me 3 st. per inch. The one on the right was on size
10 needles and it got me 3.5 st. per inch which is what I
want. I had been thinking I wanted 3. 75 but than realized
that would be a tad small. So rather a tad big than small.

Now the only problem I have is that the pattern wants size
10 needles. Now the only ones I can find are 10 inches long
which is not long enough to cast on the back. Supposedly
I have 2 sets of 14inch long size 10 needles but I sure
can't find them. I have a basket that holds my straits
and went through it needle by needle, and no size 10's
except the smaller length size 10s. That's what I made
the gauge square with. So, will have to go buy a long
size 10 strait and a 32" long size 10 circular. Both
my size 10 circulars are busy with other projects. One
is a 40" and the other is a 29". So will need another
one of those also.

I also want to get a size 0, 40 inch circular for
Magic Loop, which I want to make socks.

I think we hubby gets paid this week, so will get
my allowance and then I will enough to get the
needles. I don't have credit cards any more as
I have frozen them, and at that this point they
probably aren't even still active as new ones have
come out. Hubby has the new one somewhere for me.
I tend to spend too much when I have a card.

I will be going to my Knitting Guild and only need
my yarn and the gauge squares. He gets paid
Friday so won't be able to get the needles
until Tuesday since they are closed Monday.
Oh well.

Weekend Trip

This past weekend, we started on Friday, hubby took the
day off, and went to Baltimore to see our son Ben, his wife
Dennise and 6 month old baby, Wynnie. We got a bit lost
getting there, even though hubby had bought a Garmin GPS.
We kept ignoring it and then followed it later and it
took forever to get there. Serves us right for not following
it all the way.

We spent the evening with them and I made Wynnie laugh which
made me feel good. They don't have a guest room finished, so
then we made our way to the hotel. It was dark and raining
like crazy. Not fun. The GPS got us to the hotel with no
problem.

Sorry about the bad picture. Dennise doesn't like them taken
unless she's holding the baby and she wouldn't let me use the
flash. Would you believe I fixed the photo, but now I can't
find where the program filed it. Isn't that the way?

On Saturday morning we headed down to the Mormon Temple in
Washington. We spent the morning there, and then headed home
as there was a wedding reception of my best friend's daughter
that we had to get home to go to. We managed to get home around
5:30 PM as we got stuck in traffic several times. We had an
hour before we had to leave for the reception. Hubby took a nap
and I got my email. Then we changed clothes and left for the
reception. The picture which I also fixed and can't find,
is Missy and Bryan Melton dancing. They had gotten married
just that afternoon.

Not sure why it took me 4 days to get these pictures up.
Silly me.

Been making gauge squares for the tilted duster. The first one
was only 3 stitches per inch. So one size down needle and
making another one. Hopefully can get 3.75 stitches per inch.

Picture

Came online today to see if blogger fixed the picture problem.
Seems to be ok today.

This is the yarn, the Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky yarn,
that I got in the mail yesterday. It's in the Wine Colorway.
It came in Hanks, so planning today, to take a hank or two, put it on my swift and wind it with my winder into balls.
Then I will be able to knit my yarn swatch. I need to get
3.75 stitches to an inch to get my size, which is bigger
than the pattern goes. The pattern calls for 4.5 stitches
an inch on a 10 inch needle. I'm excited to see how it works up.
Hopefully won't have to make more than the one gauge swatch, but
have a feeling I will have to change needles, we'll see.

Checked through my circular needles and I don't have a long
enough 0 or 1 to do Magic Loop, so will have to buy one
maybe next week. I searched online yesterday about Magic
Loop and found videos on it and it's not that different
than knitting on two circulars. So, can't wait till I
can get the longer needle.

We're going to go visit my son and his wife and baby in Baltimore
tomorrow. Then Saturday we will be going down to Kensington
to the Washington Temple. Yes, we are Mormon, and belong to
the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. After we're
done there, we will head home. Saturday night there is wedding
reception at church. My best friend's daughter is getting married,
it's her second marriage, but she found a man her age, who loves
her daughter. I need to go to this reception since it is my
best friend's daughter.

My son's baby is an adorable little girl. Her name is Eowyn,
but they call her Wynnie. She is almost 6 months old. We
haven't seen her since she was 2 weeks old, so that will
be nice.

I've been reading really good books by Elizabeth Lowell.
She's been writing for a while, and so since I discovered
I like the way she writes a mystery. Great!. So I've
been catching up. I noticed at the book store yesterday
that she is still writing, which is wonderful. The one
I'm reading now is called Beautiful Dreamer. I think it
might the first book she wrote in this genre anyway.

So with the sock frogged and no long enough needle, I
will wait with that. I need to pick up the Sleeveless
vest and work on that, and then need to wind that
yarn.

So, I've been knitting

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Hi all,

I took a picture of the yarn I got today. But
for some reason, blogger won't get my picture,
it keeps giving me an error. So, I will try
one more time before finishing this blog post.

The box came today with the Knit Picks Wool of
the Andes Bulky yarn in Wine color. 15 hanks. Got
3 packages of 5 hanks each. Opened one to get
one out to put on top of the rest so you could
see the yarn if I can get the picture onto blogger
today.

Went to Knit Group today at church. There were
five of us today, so that was nice. We were
knitting, one washcloth, one scarf being started,
one baby sweater, one fuzzy scarf, and my sock.
We decided to meet twice a month starting in
November. We used to meet weekly when we first
started, but opted to meet once a month when the
price of gas got really awful. Now it's a tad
better, so we won't got every week, but twice
a month now.

The Wool of the Andes Bulky yarn is for the
tilted duster which is on the front of the
fall Interweave Knits. So, will have to
wind a hank or two and knit a gauge swatch,
for my Knitting Guild on the first Thursday
of November for our Knit-a-long.

Well, I just checked with blogger, they
are aware of the problem and working on it.
Tried to get my picture again, and still
no go. Will try again tomorrow.

Oh, took the sock I haven't worked on
for a long time to knit group. Decided
I didn't like the way it looked, holes
in the edges, a purl row on the knit
side, etc. So frogged it. I'm thinking
I will try the Magic Loop thing instead
of the 2 circs way I've been doing it.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

A nice looking day, but chilly. Guess fall
is here. Such fun.

Well, this is the progress of the sleeveless top
I'm working on. It looks like the last picture
I took. Went to my Knitting Guild last week,
and we discovered a problem when they looked at
it. They said I had to either frog some of it
past the mistake or Knit more mistakes like
that throughout the project. I decided to frog
it. Luckily one of the ladies was willing
to pick up stitches for me. There's 109 of them.
So, now I have knitted back to where I had
been. Have about an inch before the next
direction takes place.

Nothing has been knitted on the sock, such is life.
Our knitting guild is going to do a knit along with
the tilted duster which is on the front of the
Fall 2007 of Interweave Knits. Had to get hubby's
ok, to order the yarn. One of the women figured
out what we needed to do for the bigger ones of us.
Ordered Wool of Andes Bulky from Knit Picks, in
the wine colorway. They shipped it the other
day, so soon I hope. So the sleeveless top
may be put on hold, but we will see.

Anyway before our next meeting on the first
Thursday of November, we need to get our
yarn and then, after rolling it into balls,
we need to knit a gauge square.

Have been reading books by Elizabeth Lowell.
I like the way she writes. Got 2 more when
I went to the library on Friday.

Hey, don't forget to leave a comment.

Saturday Sky

Posting a little late, but took the picture earlier.
Nice day although I haven't been outside at all. Today
was our Church's General Conference satellite broadcast
both today and tomorrow. Sessions here in Pa are
from 12-2 and 4 - 6. Same tomorrow. Lots of good
talks. Think I took the picture between sessions
today.

Went to my Knitting Guild meeting on Thursday night. Showed
them the progress on my sleeveless top, and we found a major
mistake, and they made me take it out. I'm no good at picking
up stitches so someone who didn't mind did it for me. So this
pic is after only a couple rows after taking out about 3 inches.

Haven't worked on the sock at all, hence no picture again.

Satu4day Sky

The days are being cool lately. Nice sky, but cool
weather.

I took this a few nights ago as we walked around the house,
the sky was so interesting. Went in and got the camera
and had to take a picture.

I've been sick this week, so no knitting. But I've been
listening to book on CD called 'Get Organized the Clear
and Simple Way' by Marla Dee. So, I decided to start by
organizing my yarn. The first thing she says to do is
Sort. So I sorted my yarns, and discovered that I have
lots and lots of Acrylic yarn. Never realized that before.

Then the amounts of Wool and Sock yarns were about what
I expected.

Same with the Cotton yarn.

So, now that it's sorted, I need to go through each box
and see if I love all the yarn. If not, I will pass
it on to someone else. I'm pretty sure I will pass on
some of that Acrylic yarn. But anyway, now I have to
go through each type of yarn separately and decide that.

I've had a cold all week, no fun. I was getting better
each day, but then had a relapse on Thursday. No fun
at all.

After I go through the yarn I will put the yarn by type
into those huge clear plastic bags I got a while ago.
That way I will be able to see my yarns. Since the
bags have zip tops it will be easy to get to the yarn.
I did have some of it in bankers type boxes in the
closet by color, but I could not see the yarn without
taking the box out and opening it. Clear plastic
should make it much easier. The yarn that wasn't
in the boxes was scattered here and there about
my craft room. Took a while to find it all, hope
I have.

So, no Knitting but sorting yarn

Saturday Sky, Knitting, and Dish Network

What a day for Saturday Sky. Took this around 12:30 I
think and it's a gray day with no sun, and cloud cover.
It's warmish, no coat needed, and not even sure it
will rain, just gray.

This is my sock. I finally figured out how to do the
gusset. Crazy. It wasn't working and I couldn't do
it, when I was writing a letter to my folks, and
explaining I couldn't do the gusset, it came to me,
how to do it. So, sat down this morning and did it.
Hurray. So, just need to decrease as I work the
foot.

Ok, last week I took a picture of the sleeveless top
I was going to make, but I couldn't find another yarn
to go with the one I wanted to use. So then found this
one, which only uses the one yarn. It's the yarn that
I bought 10 skeins of at my LYS who was getting ready
to renovate and had a 50% off sale.

This is the little bit I've done so far on the sleeveless
top. It curls as it's done in St.stitch. Tried to get
it to lay flat but it wasn't cooperating very well.

Well, today we are getting the Dish Network installed.
We weren't sure it would work here as we are surrounded
by trees in the area it needs.

This is the dish that was attached to the chimney and
it works. Now He is having trouble as the cable
goes in the other room and then the TV in the living
room has to pick up the signal. Trouble is there is
2 outside walls between my TV and the other one with
metal siding. So, they are routing it through
the basement I guess.

Sorry for the not great picture, but this is the guy trying
to get the TV in living room to work.

Here's hoping he figures it out before he leaves.

Saturday Sky

Another week, and Blogger is doing something with the pictures.
Couldn't write until I got below them. Instead of being html,
they are actually the pictures. Odd. Anyway, took this sky pic
as usual from the balcony around 3:30 or so.

There was supposed to be rain this morning but didn't see any.
Sunny most of the day.

This is a Shell I'm going to make. The size goes up to mine
so that is good. I'm going to use the skeins of yarn I
bought at my LYS for cheap. The worsted size Plymouth
Encore Colors. Just doing the gauge square first.

We just got home from a wedding reception of a friend's
second daughter that got married today. We were bad
and left before they served the cake. Hubby had to
still pay the bills.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

Hot day today. Took this picture around 11 AM this
morning. We have the air on today.

Progress on my sock. Just turned the heel. Need to
do the gusset next. Got this far at my knitting guild
on Thursday night. Had time to do the gusset but didn't
feel like tackling it there. Will work on it later today
maybe.

Last Saturday, my Lys was having a 50% off everything
in the store except their own yarns. The store is part
of a yarn factory. Anyway, even though the store was
terribly crowded, I managed to find this Sockotta yarn
for a pair of socks for me of course as some point.
Haven't seen that many Knitters and Crocheters in one
place in a long time. Waited in line for 2 hours.

While I was waiting in line, we passed an area where this
yarn was in a package of 10 skeins. Liked the colors, so
picked it up. That will be enough for a sweater at
some point. Just photographed the one since the rest
are still in their plastic covering. It's Plymouth
Colors yarn. Some percentage acrylic and the rest
is wool.

When I got my yarn home, I added the yarn to cards. I keep
all my yarn listed on cards with yardage, and all the info
on them. That way, when I want to make something, I can use
the cards to see what I have. Each card also has a piece of
the yarn attached to it also. Don't think I have all my stash
listed as yet, but did the new stuff anyway.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

Another very nice day. I went to my LYS this morning,
as they were having a 50% off sale of everything but
their own yarns. Evidently they are going to renovate
the store and need to get rid of all they can to do that.

Forgot to take the Saturday Sky picture until I got
home. So that was taken around 2:45 PM. Did I tell
you I was in the line for check out for 2 hours?
Never saw that many knitters all together. Talked
to the older woman in front of me most of the
2 hours. We even walked down the hill, me to
my car and her to her home.

The only thing I am working on at them moment
is socks. Just working the heel flap at the
moment on this first sock, from Sockotta yarn.

The local West End Fair was going all this week.
We went Monday night, then I went Wed. morning,
got my hand stamped when I left and we both
went Wednesday night after dinner. That ate
into my knitting time a bit this week.

So, I've been knitting.
