Saturday Sky

I was sitting out on a bench in the woods to the side on
the hill today reading a book, when I remembered today was
Saturday and I needed to take a Saturday Sky picture. So
I finished the chapter I was reading and went in to get my
camera out of my purse. Then I went back out and took the
sky from a different angle today around 6 PM. It was warm
today in the low 80's. Cooling down now. May rain I think.

No updates with knitting today. I am a slow knitter after all.
Still working on the sock and getting ready to turn the heal.
Still working on the knitting bag with still an inch or two to do.
Started a washcloth, but just basically cast on and knit a row or
two. So will do a midweek blog again and show the updates.

Lazy day today. Got up really late, basically because hubby was
making a racket all morning, waking me again and again. Silly
man. Did a load of wash. I think the dryer is done.

Nothing I really want to see on the TV tonight.

iPod Cozy

Over the last few days I knitted this iPod Cozy.
Hubby said it just needs some legs, guess he
thinks it looks like a bug. LOL It's knit with
a ribbon yarn and the yarn I'm knitting the
socks with. I think I have a sweater's
amount of that yarn. Anyway they were
both a similar color so it worked well.
Knit it on size 10 needles. It's knit
flat and then sewed up the sides. I
saw it on Knitty Gritty rerun last
week. Decided I didn't need to
download the pattern as it was pretty
easy.

Just so you could see that it really fits my iPod Nano, I poked it out
so you could see that it fits.

Still knitting the other things, but not enough progress in
two days to show. Still on the k2p2 rib on the 2nd sock,
and still have a couple inches on the knitting basket.
I am a slow knitter so it takes a while. The iPod cozy
was only 9 stitches wide so it didn't take long, and it
was on big needles.

On a side note, I go to Curves about 3-4 days a week.
It's about a little less than 2 miles from me. Found
out this week, that starting the day after Memorial
Day, we will be going to a new place. Curves is
moving a little down the street, closer to our
house even. Evidently it's a bit wider than the
place we're in now. I like to go earlyish, around
7:30 every morning. I meet the same women there
and it's comfortable chatter while there.

So, I've been knitting.

Saturday Sky

Looks like a gorgeous sky today. Took the picture around
12 PM. Supposed to rain later I think but doesn't look
like rain now for sure. Although we do need rain.
I've been cold all morning. So even though the sky
looks great, it's around 60 and windy. I'm cold.
Hubby is outside all morning working, mowing, cutting
down trees, etc.

Here is an update on the socks. Put the 1st sock in there so you
can see I've done that and am working on the 2nd sock. I'm a slow
knitter I suppose, plus I have BIG feet.

This is the knitting basket. Measured the sides and they
are only at 10 inches. Need to get to 13 inches before
starting the handles which are made by casting off some
stitches at each place, and then knitting another inch
or so, casting on again at the handle place. I just put
the book in there, to make it easier to see as the yarn
is so dark. Just reading "Puss N Cahoots" by Rita Mae
Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown. Cute book. I guess that's
a picture of Sneaky Pie Brown on the back cover.

Anyway, I just started an iPod cosy with a ribbon yarn and
the same yarn I'm knitting my socks with. Have lots of
skeins of that yarn. The ribbon yarn is a similar color
to the other yarn. Basically stocking knit stitch over
9 stitches. Got the basic pattern from (senior moment)
that knitting show on DIY network that is shown on
HGTV here at 7 AM 3 days a week. Picture later.

So, I've been knitting.

Knitting Meme

Have you seen the meme of books, where you mark with bold the ones you've read, mark with italics the ones you plan (or want to) read in the future and you leave the ones you haven't read but also do not plan to?

I made a similar kind - but this is one with knitting techniques, habits, items, tools and materials. Not everything is there, but quite a lot. Mark with bold the things you have ever done, with italics, the ones you plan to do sometime, and leave the rest.

Saturday Sky

I almost forgot today to shoot my Saturday Sky. So just a few
minutes ago at 7:10 PM or so, I shot the picture. It's been
raining so that's why the gray sky.

Hurray! I finished my first sock. Knit with Patons Canadiana
Colours, in Plum, a worsted weight Acrylic yarn on size 4 with
2 circular needles. Now I will start the 2nd sock, Used most
of the skein, with the first sock, so pulled out a new skein to
start the 2nd one. Figure it will be good if I start the
2nd one right away. By the way the sock is by no means
perfect. You can sort of see a row that was the probably
knit when it was supposed to be purled near the toe decreases.
There are also several other mistakes, but look, this is
the first sock I've made that actually fits.

After I knit the 2nd sock, I'm going to get 2 size 1 or 2 circulars
that are different colors or one metal and one wood. It surely helped
using these size 4's as one was pink and the other was green. Still
goofed occasionally, but it was easy to fix.

I'm still knitting the knitting basket, but didn't do much on it
this week, as I've been trying to finish the sock. So no picture
of that yet. Was thinking of starting a third project, but seem
to be keeping pretty busy with socks and the basket.

So, I've been knitting

Saturday Sky

Was doing things on the computer when I thought, I'd better take
a Saturday Sky picture. Nice clear day. Temps in the 60's, with
a little wind. Need a jacket or sweater, or at least I do. LOL

This is the sock I'm working on. Tried it on today, and it fits
so far. Still need to work more till I can start decreasing to
the toe. So far, I like it. Took the picture on my desk, since
that's where I work on it. Sorry for the mess under the sock.

This week we went down to Baltimore to see our new granddaughter.
Wouldn't you know I didn't take any pictures of her. Guess I was
busy holding and wondering about her. Her name is Eowyn Ruili Daun-Porter.
Her first name is pronounced A o win. Her middle name is Chinese. She's
the daughter of my son and daughter-in-law. Daughter-in-law is Chinese.

Anyway, the next day, we went down to Washington to the Temple. We are
members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, (Mormon)
and it is our temple. We got very lost getting from son's house
to the Temple. We were lost for 2 hours before finally getting
there. We usually go down to the Temple another way, and the
directions we had weren't good.

After being in the Temple, we decided to walk the grounds as they are
very pretty. This is just one of the shots I took.

Besides the sock, I am still working on the knitting basket.
I looked at it but haven't done enough for a picture update.
I finished the yellow washcloth, but couldn't find it to
take a picture. Probably in the wash.

Trying to think what to start next. Like to have 3 things on the
needles. Was thinking of starting a scarf with some yummy yarn
that a Secret Pal gave me. But then again it's warm out and do
I want to work making a scarf now?

I like to have one easy thing to knit. Maybe another washcloth.
We'll see.

So, I've been knitting.
