Well, I've been knitting. After I finished the last scarf, I couldn't decide what to knit next. Took me a few days, but then I pulled out a knitting book about Bags. So now I'm knitting a purse. It's knit in two strands of a chunky yarn and has a cable down the middle. The color is Ragg Beige. It may take me a while as it is a little hard to knit very long as the 2 strands make it a little tough on the hands, especially when cabling.

Got an MP3 player. It's a Sony Net MD player which has a mini-disk. It's small about 3 inches square. Fits in the pocket nicely and I use it while walking the treadmill at the gym. Holds about 4 or 5 CD's worth of music. Need to get some more Mini-disks though as it only came with one.

So, I've been knitting.

Hi All,

I know, long time between posts, sorry.

Yes I've been knitting Fuzzy scarves. Using a furry yarn and a ribbon yarn, I knitted a 10 stitch blue one, a 5 stitch red/orange one, and am now making a multicolor 6 stitch one. Can I help it, scarves are easy to knit and keep my fingers busy. Think I'll send the Blue and red/orange ones to my 10 year old granddaughter who lives in Texas for Christmas. I'll keep the last one in my gift drawer, or who knows, maybe I'll wear it.

I ordered a pattern for a cabled afghan, but it hasn't come yet. I feel like doing cables. I was in town today, and while I was knitting that scarf with big plastic needles, one of them broke right in half. Luckily afterwards I went to A.C. Moore which is near where I was, and got new needles so I could finish the silly scarf.

Can't wait till that cabled Afghan pattern comes.

So, I knitted.

I made two scarves the past week or two. One was 10 stitches across and the other was only 5 stitches across and 5 ft. long. The 10 stitch one was blue, with both a furry yarn and a ribbon yarn. Ended up about 4 feet long. The 5 stitch one is redish with an orange furry one and blue, pink, yellow ribbon. I plan to send them to my granddaughter for Christmas. They live in Texas and it doesn't get chilly before then.

Can't figure out what to knit next. Maybe I should work on that hat that I put aside a while ago. Still working on the edge of that which is patterned. I have a larger head than most women, 23", so need to make it to fit me.

Got a new Planner. Took a Barnes and Noble free Class on Franklin Covey's Focus CD's. Helped me remember all the stuff I learned a few years back when I took coaching for a year from them. So ordered the new planner. Thought I was getting the right size but found I got the next bigger one. So, ordered a Binder to fit it. It's a bit bigger, but I find I like the writing space.

Anyway, try Barnes and Noble's free classes. They are cool, and you can learn lots. Taking a cooking class next. Classes start again at the beginning of Sept.

So, I've been knitting.

I finished the fulled bag and handle last week, but it's still sitting here, haven't gotten the nerve to put it in the washer yet. Wanted to try a knitted square first, but didn't have enough wool to do that. Frustrating.

Anyway, now I'm knitting one of those furry scarfs for my granddaughter for Christmas I think. It looks cool and feels so soft. I'm using a fun fur and a ribbon together to make it. It's basically blue with a little variation from the fur.

I ordered somethings from Franklin Covey and just found out it will take up to 3 weeks for it get here, as I don't have an address ( live in the country) and it has to come through the mail. Wierd. Can't figure out why it would take so long. I ordered a replacement planner that runs from July 04 to June 05. Of course July is gone all ready. Oh well. Sorry for venting.

So, I knitted.

I've been working on a fulled bag. Using Noro, Kuryon, 100% wool yarn, which is self striping. Turned out great so far. Knitted the handles too. Now I have to get up the nerve to full it in the washer. Scary. Wish me luck.

So, I've been knitting.

I'm frustrated. All ready wrote this post but it was taking quite a long time to post it, so gave up and am starting again.

Finished the Fulled bag that I'm making, although still working on the handles. Then I will full it if it works in my Front loading washer. We'll see. I used Noro Kureyon 100% wool. It makes it's own stripes which is cool.

Reading, R is for Richochet, by Sue Grafton. She's written a bunch one for each letter of the alphabet. R is as far as she's gotten so far. Started with A is for Alibi.

Taking two online classes. One is on Digital Cameras, and the other is a Franklin Covey type class called Focus, achieving your highest priorities. Enjoying them both.

So, I've been knitting.
Need to blog more often I guess. Have been knitting. Finished knitting the fulled bag I've been knitting. Working on the handles at the moment. Bag looks great. Used Noro Wool yarn, Kureyon, which makes it's own stripes. Pretty cool. Bought the yarn in Nova Scotia, Ca. Can't wait to full the bag. Hope it works in my front loader washer. I'll try just a square first to make sure. If not I'll have to try it at the laundramat or something.

Reading, R is for Ricochet, by Sue Graften. I like her books. She's going through the alhabet.

Taking two online classes, one on Digital Cameras, and the other a Franklin Covey type class called Focus, Achieving your highest priorities. Pretty cool classes.

Hi all,

Been knitting a fulled bag in Noro Wool. Makes it own stripes. Got 3 skeins each a little different that go together when I was up in Nova Scotia on vacation.
Couldn't resist starting it. Got it a little past halfway done. Then I'll need to make a square and try fulling it, and then do the bag if it works well.

Need to figure out if I can add pictures to this blog. Not sure.

Taking two online classes. One on Digital Cameras that I had to pay for, and the other a free class on Franklin Covey's Focus, a time management thing. Trying to get smart in my old age or something.

Haven't worked on the baby sweater, needed to take a break from it. I will get it done for late fall as they live in Texas.

So, I've been knitting.

Hi all,

Been quite a while since I posted. Haven't been knitting lately. I did take my knitting on vacation to Canada, and messed it up quite well while working on it in the car. Then I unknit the few rows to fix it, and then realized I had dropped a stitch and didn't have a crochet hook to fix it. Haven't picked it up since I've been home, as I came home with a nasty ear infection. Saw the doctor and he put me on an antibiotic for a week. Don't think that was long enough, because now a few days since it finished, I am now beginning to have my ear hurt again as it did when it started in Canada. Such fun.

Went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban tonight. I love the Potter books, but this movie was not as good as the previous two, it did not follow the book very well at all. I was disappointed. Oh well.

So, I knitted and made a mess.

Gee, haven't written here for a while. Silly me. Very nice day here in the Poconos. Temps in the 70's.

I am working on my granddaughter's sweater, slowly but I am doing it.

We are planning a trip to Nova Scotia in June which should be fun. Will definitely take my knitting with me, especailly for ferry's.

The snow is gone, the forsythia is starting to bloom, and the greenery is up for the daffodils. We live on the north side of the of the hill, so things are late.

So, I knitted.

Winter has not let go of Eastern PA as yet. Cold, and extremely windy today. When I walked the dog I wore with my coat, a scarf, mittens, and hat. Thought I was done with those things for this time of year. Wasn't Spring started just this weekend? Oh well, such is life.

I have been working on the granddaughter's sweater. It's worked from sleeve to sleeve. Got the first sleeve the right length and next thing is to add the stitches for the front and back.

Been learning to life weights. I had gone to Curves for a year and a month, but then decided I wasn't getting in any better shape as the machines stayed the same. So now to move on to weight lifting. Found a gym today by looking in the telephone books and it's very close to here which is great. Need to call and make appointment to tour the place. I have been lifting dumb bells but that's not as safe as machines. I've been reading Power of 10 which is the slow lifting of weights.

Hope it warms up here in this neck of the woods soon.

So, I've been knitting.

Went to the Doctor on Friday afternoon to get the ear wax taken out of my right ear. Had to wait in the waiting room for an hour and a half. Good thing I took my knitting and got quite a few rows done while waiting on the baby sweater. Turns out I was next to the last to be taken into the examining room. And the last one to leave that afternoon at 6 PM. Only car in the parking lot. Well, one good thing was that I got a lot of knitting done. Sure was frustrating to see others being called in while I was still sitting there. So be it.

Think I will go get one of those Sourdough hard pretzels I bought a big thing of yesterday.

So, I knitted.

I am getting frustrated. Wrote this several times and can't seem to get it published.

Well, I am knitting again. Worked on the hat band quite a bit for the last week or so. Then last night I started a sweater for my granddaughter again. This time I'm knitting it in a size she will be in the fall, so it just may fit her when she needs it. They do live in Texas.

Went to the audiologist yesterday. My hearing is getting worse, but he things it might be wax, so I need to go to my doctor to get them washed out. Such fun. He says my loss is probably genetic.

We had snow yesterday morning, but it melted by noon. Nice thing about March.

So, I've been knitting.

The ice on the driveway was almost gone, and then today it snowed. All day this really light snow fell, and we got about 2+ inches in on the drive. Glad we have all wheel drive cars.

Tomorrow is my birthday and so we went out to eat tonight at a Steak House as hubby has to go out to a meeting tomorrow night. Got packages from my Parents and my daughter. Very nice. Will have fun opening them tomorrow.

My parents called me tonight and sang me Happy Birthday. Mom's doctor put her on the South Beach Diet to bring her triglyserides down or something. She's complaining because she's lost too much weight. Wish I had that trouble.

Well, my knit hat has been sitting in the bag with nothing done to it lately. One of these days I should pick it up and work on it. The part I am at I have to look at the directions as it's busy and I prefer mindless knitting I guess. Silly me.

So, no knitting lately.

Computer woes. Was trying to solve my computer slowdown, and accidentally erased something that was crucial to windows. It told me to do a restore. Well that was a mistake as it really screwed up the computer. I started deleting things off the computer as the Windows CD said there was no room. Deleted everything I could and it still wouldn't load, so I finally figured out how to format the drive. It took 3 days, but I'm finally back online.

Our driveway is quite icy. There are places on the downpart (we live on hill) which are dry, but up top and around the house it is very icy. It's been so cold it has not had a chance to melt since early this week when it happened. No fun.

No knitting lately, but that is about to change.

Friday, February 06, 2004

Ice this time. We've had 2 inches of ice on the driveway the last couple days. Last night we got a little snow, and now freezing rain. Maybe we'll have lots more ice, who knows. I have an all wheel drive vehicle, but going down our 1/10 mile hill of a driveway is no fun. At least we can get back up.

Been procratinating on my knitting lately. I read a book, and took a class called Getting Things Done. I liked the ideas in it, and am working on being better in the procrastinating thing.

So, no knitting lately.

Wednesday, January 28, 2004

Snow! We got over 8 inches overnight. Good day to stay at home and knit. Still working on the hat, as I haven't gotten to work on it much lately. Hubby said it was slow going with the snow blower due to that much snow. Guess I'll creep out later to go to the post office. They didn't clear the roads early as schools were closed today and no school buses needed to drive it.

So, I'll knit today.

Monday, January 19, 2004

I've been working on my hat these past few days. Still not very far on that cabled band. Think I have 4 cables done out of 18 or something. Way to go with just the band. Been too busy doing other things I guess.

We had snow and freezing rain yesterday. No fun. We stayed home from church. It stopped later and then hubby cleared the driveway. Drive is almost clear in places today. Temps in the 20's F.

I did finish reading a book I had borrowed from a friend, this weekend. Maybe that's why I didn't get many more cables done.

So, I've been knitting.

Thursday, January 15, 2004

I have taken out the sock I started and waiting till I feel up to it to go get a second circular to try the 2 socks at a time. I have been sick this past week, and haven't up to making the 25 mile trip to the knitting store. Guess I could look online, we'll see.

I did knit the practice square for the hat I want to make. That came out ok, so I started the band of cabling that goes around the hat. Haven't gotten very far as my needles are long, and can't use them in my favorite knitting chair. I will do it though. I want to wear the hat.

We got about 2 inches of snow yesterday evening. My hubby ran the snow blower this morning. I made it down it later and it wasn't too bad. The roads weren't the greatest though as schools were closed so they didn't clear the back roads in a hurry. It's still quite cold here in PA. It's about 2 degrees F. now at 7:45 PM.

So, I've been knitting.

Sunday, January 11, 2004

Have been thinking about knitting. Deciding I want to unravel what I've knitted on my pullover sweater and am in the midst of finding a cardigan to make instead. I am also going to take my sock and unravel that out and now have directions to make 2 socks at a time on 2 circulars. Need to buy another circular to match one I have.

I've been sick this past week. Not fun, bad cold. Still coughing and blowing the nose, so guess although I'm feeling a bit better I'm still sick.

It's been very cold here in the Poconos. Temps in the minus numbers lately. Quite raw out. Good time to be sick and stuck inside.

Got together stuff to make a hat I found on the Internet. Raided my stash and found a pretty blue worsted weight yarn which will make a nice hat. It has a band of cabling around the edge which will be pretty and fun to work. Plan to start on it tonight.

So, I've been ripping more than knitting, but planning to start knitting again this evening.
