Saturday Sky
Another week, thought I would update more often, but doesn't
seem like it's happening. It is slightly warmer today, but
there is still snow on the ground. Luckily the driveway is
pretty much clear, and this morning hubby was down at the
bottom (we live on hill) and breaking up the ice across
the bottom of the drive. After he ran the snow blower
a few days ago, then the plow came through the street
and the weather got cold, so there appeared a very hard
ridge of 4 inches or so of ice, we had to go over on the way
out and in. So he took an ax and hacked through it as
it is warmer today for a change. Make it easier for my
son and his family to come on Monday. They have a new
Toyota hybrid which is not all wheel drive.
Well, here is the progress on the Christmas present.
I did frog it and restart. Now I know I did one row
which is off, and I should frog back to there, but
at this point where I am, I'm not sure it will get
done. Besides, it probably is the fold line.
My hands are getting arthritic and it's hard
to knit more than a row or two before my hands hurt
too much. Even with circular needle.
In the mean time, we are still working on the house
and trying to get my hubby to pick up his stuff on the
floor. He had stuff in the guest shower, and he took
that out, but instead of taking it downstairs, he left
it in the living room. Will I ever get this house ready
for guests?
The shower floor was filthy. I've cleaned it once, but
I think it needs some getting down on the floor and scrubbing.
Trouble is, it's sort of a spotted floor but the spots
are little dark bars here and there. Hard to differentiate
them from the dirt.
Daughter-in-law is very fussy, so will continue after
the shower and clean very well the rest of the bath.
It is the smallest bath, but hubby has been using it
to wash his dirty things, etc. and that's why it is so
dirty.
We also have the borrowed crib to put together. It's
a two person job. Now he's sleeping as he worked like
like crazy on that ice. I know I bought a crib sheet
and have no idea where it is. Such fun.
Well, here's hoping you all have a wonderful Holiday
whatever you are celebrating. Have a Merry Christmas
and very Happy New Year!
So, I've been knitting.

Saturday Sky
Well, there is still snow on the ground, the driveway
appears clear. Another storm is happening tomorrow,
such fun. But today is ok.
This is a Christmas present I'm knitting. The recipient
reads the blog so can't say. But as I was laying it down
to photograph, I realized it's a mobius. I evidently, didn't
get it untwisted enough when joining, so need to frog it and
start again. I'm a slow knitter, will I get this done before
Christmas? Sure will try.
Crazy weather, ice, snow, etc. Not fun. Can't wait till
hubby retires and we can move south. So tired of ice and snow.

Here is a Christmas meme from Knitnana. I liked
it, so here's mine.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mostly wrapping paper, but
will use a recycled pretty bag occasionally.
2. Real or artificial tree? An artificial tree.
3. When do you put up the tree? Well I don't like it up very
long. It's still in the box. We may put it up this weekend.
Well, today is Saturday and not sure it will get done, maybe
next weekend.
4. When do you take the tree down? New Year’s Day as hubby
is home to help take it down.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Having trouble thinking
of one. I do remember one Christmas, I was about 12 and my
sister was around 4. Mom told me to open my gifts quickly
as I got more than my sister and she didn't want Ami to notice.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, forgot to get it out, so
will do that today.
8. Hardest person to buy for? Hubby
9. Easiest person to buy for? My sister, even though I've all ready
sent her something, I see lots of other things I could send her. We
are much better friends now than we were as kids with 8 years between
us.
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? a crotched outfit from my
grandmother. Never wore it.
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Well I email some, and write a couple
Hubby does most of the card mailing.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? White Christmas
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually December but I do
most of my shopping online.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Chocolate Chip Cookies
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored
17. Favorite Christmas song? Love all of them
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay Home
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Yes
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel, although sometimes,
nothing.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? Christmas morning
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Christmas stuff in
October.
23. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color – No
24. What do/did you leave for Santa? Can't remember ever leaving
anything for Santa
it, so here's mine.

Saturday Sky
Took this picture around 1 PM. It's a tad warm today
with temps of 40 degrees. Strange that it is warmer
than usual and I am colder than usual. When I got dressed
I put on a light sweater. But a little later, I took that
off and found a fleece pullover I put on and that is warmer.
Maybe it's windy and that's why I feel cold even with the
heat on.
Ok, I did frog the left front, and reknit it. So here it is
finished. Next is the sleeves. I think I am stopping here to
knit a thing for Christmas.
Reading a Dean Koontz book called 'Phantoms'. Scary book,
can only read it early in the day, and put it away till the
next morning. One evening I read some of it, and couldn't sleep
for thinking about it. A woman doctor had just gone to Florida
and picked up her younger sister, as their mother had just died.
They got into Snowfield, the doctor's town, and it was deathly
quiet. They found the doctor's maid, dead on the floor. Then
they went to the Sheriff's and found him dead too. They stopped
at a bakery and found the husband and wife dismembered. They
found another husband and wife in a locked room, dead. You
can see why it's scary. Each chapter gets more scary too.
The first book I read of his, wasn't scary at all. Oh well.
So, need to find the right yarn for the Christmas gift. Tried
one but it was too soft. I think I want to knit it of Acrylic
yarn, washable and all. I can see from here,(my yarn is in
those big plastic bags), a bulky yarn I'd like to use, but
it may be tricky to get it to gauge. We'll see.

Saturday Sky
Took this picture around 11 AM this morning. Couldn't
update then as we were going out at 11:15 to get to the
movies. We went down to the Nazareth Movie Theaters and
saw 'Enchanted'. It's cute, but a little too cute for
hubby. Then we went to Applebee's for lunch. Tomorrow
is our 38th Anniversary and we decided to go out to lunch
instead of dinner since tomorrow is fast day at church.
After eating, we went down to the Palmerton Mall. We hardly
ever go down there. It's a lot bigger than it was when
we lived down there 27 or so years ago. We actually found
a present for a grandson, exactly what he wanted. His Mom
suggested one from Sears, but they were out of them. So
this was luck.
This is how far I've gotten on the left front of the Tilted
Duster. Well, I can see a mistake, when I frogged 5 rows,
and picked up stitches, it shows. Also I have more stitches
than I should at this point. So, I think I'm going to frog
it all, and start over again. Not that I want to do that,
but such is life.
Anyway, I'm tired from walking around the mall. Maybe I'll
watch a Christmas Movie, hubby recorded last week. Don't
remember which one it was though.
