Saturday Sky

Not an exciting day. Cold, but not as bad as yesterday. We took a bus
into NY City for a funeral yesterday. Very cold and windy, no fun at all.
But we got a nice bus ride there and back, so not too bad.

I knitted on the baby blanket for an hour each way on the bus. Still
getting bigger. Sooner or later I should start decreasing don't you think?

So, I've been knitting.

Here are pictures of the two washcloths I've made recently.

The first two pictures are the Nubbins Dishcloth. The design is
by Vyvyan Neel. If interested, you can get it at
http://inahappycamper.eponym.com/blog

They almost look like two different ones, with the one folded so you
can see the Nubbins better. Used Sugar and Cream yarn but don't
have the color number as it was part of a skein when I used it.

Ok, this one was from my Secret Dishcloth list, and was the midmonth one
in January. There is a 8 stitch cables in it. I think it looks something
like Ocean waves.

Saturday Sky

This one is better than last Saturday's picture. You can see
we've had a little snow. Nice day, but quite cold. Snow
flurries today. We saw a very small one earlier. Covered
the driveway again last night. Seems to do that better than
the grass which is spotty. No big snows predicted. Actually
yesterday was the first snow this year. Odd.

Been knitting the current washcloth from the dishcloth list. Was going to post
the URL for it, but they have stopped taking new people in. Anyway, am washing
the last washcloth, so should have a picture of that one soon. Need to put he wash
in the dryer. I Think the one I am working on still has maybe 2 days to go till finished. Haven't downloadedtoday's rows yet.

So, I've been knitting.

Look what I got in the mail today! The Harry Potter Scarf
that my SP8 secret pal Crystal, knit it for me. Yes, I'm
all ready into SP9 but Crystal ran out of yarn and it took
her a while to find what she needed, and then ran out of time
but promised me she would send it. Isn't it gorgeous. It's
even double knitted, very warm, and wonderful. And it just
got COLD here in PA. Very glad to have it.

Well, I am very bad. This is a Saturday Sky picture, taken outside looking
at lights across the valley. Can't see the lights much in the picture.
It was taken at 11:54 PM tonight. I forgot, and saw a night Saturday
Sky picture at A Kitten Knits blog, so quick ran out and took one too.
Silly me.

Went to the Post office and found two packages today.
The first was these DPN's I won on Ebay, that came
all the way from Hong Kong. There are 4 pairs
of wooden DPN's sized 1-4 I think. All in MM,
so not positive.

The second package was from a secret pal, Chrystal, from the last Secret Pal,
who is making me a Harry Potter scarf and hasn't finished it yet. So, today
she sent a package of Chocolate. Nice Dark Chocolate. Yum, all ready
opened one of them. It's meant to appease me from not getting the scarf
yet, even though I sure could use it now. Winter has been warmish so far,
but this week it's getting colder, here in PA. Brrr.

I've been knitting a little. Been down with food poisoning or something, diarrhea,
and throwing up. Now I'm just sore.

So, I've been knitting.

Just a quick note. That wash cloth picture down there, looks blue,
and it's not. It's color is a almost white, it's an Ecru.
Such is camera pictures put on blogger, sometimes.
Ok, These are the pictures I've been promising for a while.

The first is the Knit Picks Candle Flame Shawl I'm making. I don't notice
any candle flames yet though, but haven't gotten very far yet. This picture
is just after doing row 8. So still have quite a ways to go.

All right, this is the Baby Blanket which has been resurrected.
Daughter in law is now pregnant again after losing her first. So,
got this out last week and have knitted a few rows. My needle,
I think it's a 29 inch circular is almost too short. May need to
find a longer one, but don't know if I have one in I think it's
a size 10. Will have to look. I think I still have a way to go
before it's halfway.

I finished this wash cloth a day or two ago. Here it is with all it's
mistakes. Somehow, I don't think it's worth while frogging something
that's for me. It washes my face just fine with mistakes.

So, hope you enjoyed the pictures.

I want to learn how to knit continental. I've noticed several people on the
wash cloth list are trying to knit that way also. I have a pattern for a
Fair Isle Cardigan, and so will need to hold the yarns, one in right and the
other in left. So plan to look at places online that have continental
videos, so I can see how it's done. Good old google is good at finding
things like that. I'll have to start something simple, like a scarf,
to practice with. I learned throwing and have continued that way since.

I'm also getting some wooden double points on Ebay. Won one auction for
4 small sizes. Am waiting on two more, one for 10 sizes of double points,
and another for 10 sizes of wooden straits. One way or another I will
learn to knit on doublepoints. Couldn't with the metal ones. Maybe
once I learn on the wooden ones, then maybe I can move to the smaller
metal ones. We'll see.

Saturday Sky

Almost forgot to take a picture and post it. Silly me.
It's extremely warm today here in PA, 65 degrees. It is
supposed to get cold soon though. Crazy winter weather
so far. Maybe those clouds in the picture will bring
the cold weather, we will see.

I've been knitting. Let's see, some progress on the baby blanket.
Daughter in law is expecting in April. I had started it when she
got pregnant last time, and then she lost it, and so I put it on
the back burner, but now it's time to work on it again. Also working
on the shawl I'm making, and almost done with the wash cloth, just
two days to finish. So maybe lots of pictures next time.

So, I've been knitting.
