Saturday Sky

Looks like a nice day, but it is so cold, and windy, I took the picture
throught the window. The weather prediction for the week is basically
Party Cloudy, Cold and windy.

I told you last time I would give you an update on the baby blanket.

I spread it out on the bed, but even though I'm decreasing, I can't put it
out flat, still too big and would lose stitches. You can sort of see
the corners where I turned to decrease. Should be able to finish it
before the daughter in law has the baby in the middle of April.

So, I've been knitting.

Warning - Picture Heavy post.

Guess what I found at the post office today. A Box from my SP 9. Lots
of goodies, I'm not sure how she fit it all in the box. I sure couldn't
put it back in well once I had it out.

This is a Warm Vanilla scented fragranced sachet. Two lucious pillows to put
in my drawers to scent my clothes.

The yarn on the left is a lace weight Yarn. The yarn on the right is
Knit Picks Merino Wool Sock yarn. I love the colors. Then looking at
the yarn is a cute Lama, I think he is anyway.

Ok, she told me this is Touch Me yarn. It feels great and she said after
you knit you put it in hot water and it felts a bit, and feels like
velvet. It's a gorgeous blue.

The last yarn she included was Black Forest Handpainted yarn. There are
four skeins there. I believe it's worsted weight, but not sure.

These are called Pillow Heads. Not sure what they are. Cute though.

Then she put in these two gorgeous bracelets. Too bad they are a tad
small, but I am losing weight and maybe they will fit when I lose some
more.

Then at the bottom of the box was this First Book of Modern Lace Knitting,
by Marianne Kinzel. It has directions for crocet lace, two Pins, circular,
and seems to have lots of lace patterns.

Can you believe she gave me all those things. Oh, there were also 3 bath beads.
I've all ready misplaced them. Maybe they are by the tub. Sorry no picture.
But maybe there is enough pictures in this post. Anyway, she revealed herself
and her name is Bronwyn, from Montana. Thanks again, Bronwyn.

I've been working on the Baby blanket. Will put another picture of my
progress next time.

Well, here is a picture of the KAL Mystery Dishcloth, I've been making.
I don't use them as dishcloths but as washcloths.

After the first row of hearts, I pretty much figured it would have 9
hearts on it. I used a Sugar and Creme cotton yarn in a Tea Rose
color.

I've been reading a book called The Body Signal Secret.
It's about learning to read your own body and whether it's hungry or
not. If hungry, you eat until satisfied. If not, don't eat. I'm
having trouble figuring out when my body is hungry. For years I've
been dieting and eating pretty much constantly. So it may take a
while to figure out when I'm hungry.

Anyway, Since I've been reading it, it's a library book, I haven't been
knitting anything but the twice a month dishcloth. Last night
I picked up the baby blanket and did a few rows. I'm now decreasing,
and it's slowly, getting smaller. Knitting from corner to corner,
remember.

Just won two books on Ebay, about knitting Mittens. One's called
something obvious like How to Knit Mittens, and the other is
called Mittens, Mittens, Mittens. So, we will see.

Also, I am just sending an order to a book club for a book on
circular knitting. She uses double points, which I need
practice with.

Saturday Sky

This was taken around noon today. We had a little less than 2 inches
of snow yesterday afternoon. It was around freezing temperatures and
icy last night. Jeff ran the snow blower this morning. First time
we had enough snow to stay on the trees this year. Cooler today, just
21 degrees around 2 PM.

I've been knitting. Still working on the baby blanket. Finally got past the
widest and am now doing decreasing. I will finish it by the time she has the
baby in April.

Also working on the mystery KAL Dishcloth. Looks like a valentine cloth,
we will see. Just got day 3 today and haven't worked it yet.

Haven't done anything on my shawl this week.

So, I've been knitting.

Saturday Sky

Not an exciting day. Cold, but not as bad as yesterday. We took a bus
into NY City for a funeral yesterday. Very cold and windy, no fun at all.
But we got a nice bus ride there and back, so not too bad.

I knitted on the baby blanket for an hour each way on the bus. Still
getting bigger. Sooner or later I should start decreasing don't you think?

So, I've been knitting.

Here are pictures of the two washcloths I've made recently.

The first two pictures are the Nubbins Dishcloth. The design is
by Vyvyan Neel. If interested, you can get it at
http://inahappycamper.eponym.com/blog

They almost look like two different ones, with the one folded so you
can see the Nubbins better. Used Sugar and Cream yarn but don't
have the color number as it was part of a skein when I used it.

Ok, this one was from my Secret Dishcloth list, and was the midmonth one
in January. There is a 8 stitch cables in it. I think it looks something
like Ocean waves.

Saturday Sky

This one is better than last Saturday's picture. You can see
we've had a little snow. Nice day, but quite cold. Snow
flurries today. We saw a very small one earlier. Covered
the driveway again last night. Seems to do that better than
the grass which is spotty. No big snows predicted. Actually
yesterday was the first snow this year. Odd.

Been knitting the current washcloth from the dishcloth list. Was going to post
the URL for it, but they have stopped taking new people in. Anyway, am washing
the last washcloth, so should have a picture of that one soon. Need to put he wash
in the dryer. I Think the one I am working on still has maybe 2 days to go till finished. Haven't downloadedtoday's rows yet.

So, I've been knitting.
